Money Saving Tips For Golfing Holidays

Golf holidays are fantastic fun and can be a great way to let off some steam, get some sun and enjoy yourself. If you’re looking to do so for a little less – here are some great tips.

1. Share a Room

There are a couple of resorts that have exceptional accommodation, and one of the most economical ways for golfers to save on accommodation is by sharing a room. For instances, the courses in Portimao have one, two, and even three-bedroom apartments that can accommodate two, four, or six golfers on a budget. When it comes to accommodation sharing, the more the people, the cheaper the cost.

2. Eight: The Magic Number

Many golf courses and resorts offer free spaces if more than eight people are travelling. This space or room can be split amongst the group, allowing everyone to benefit from the savings made available. If you’re looking to enjoy some golfing in the sun, the more you are, the better.

3. Consider “Up and Coming” Golfing Destinations

New golf destinations are cropping up all the time, and since most of these courses or resorts are looking to attract customers and keep them from going to the courses they are used to, they tend to offer bargains and special prices that you can benefit from. The Murcia and Costa Dorada regions of Spain are good examples of areas that are currently working on how they can improve the number of players who go there to play. There are excellent accommodation and enjoyable golf courses to be found here and at competitive prices. Instead of going for the more popular destinations, why not try something new. You never know, it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

4. Buggies

Almost all golf courses include buggies in their green fee, which makes it much cheaper than renting a buggy or hiring one separately. The Amendoeria Golf Resort, located in the Algarve region of Portugal, is a good example. Some golf courses and resorts even allow you to pre-book a buggy in advance. This approach is much cheaper compared to hiring one when you already are at the golf course.

5. Choose Your Travel Dates Wisely

Golf resort prices tend to vary depending on the time and season. There are significant savings to be had if you travel during the Low or Medium seasons. However, you should note that prices may vary within one month. As such, a little amount of flexibility on your part could prove fruitful.

6. All-Inclusive Option

If you want to know how much the entire holiday trip will cost you, consider taking the all-inclusive package as it also includes drinks and food in the overall price. This option is especially beneficial for groups as they eliminate quarrels and arguments over who is going to pay for the next round of drinks or if everybody has deposited their share into the kitty. All-inclusive packages have proven to be incredibly popular amongst Irish and British golfer in recent days, and more golfing destinations are now including this offer in their accommodation packages. Turkey is one of the most popular regions offering the all-inclusive package with all golfing resorts in the country providing it as standard. On the other hand, if you are looking for an option that fits all budgets and is suitable for an extended holiday, check out Portugal’s NAU hotels – and one, in particular, is the Sao Rafael Suites, located near Albufeira. 7. Car Hires for Small Groups

While transfers are one of the most convenient ways to get around, they aren’t that cheap. If you do not mind driving yourself abroad, hiring a car is the best solution to keeping costs down and having the freedom and flexibility to move about as you like.
