I came across a great Typing Game the other day that tests your typing skills to the maximum! There are a number of categories you can choose from. So, whether you’re a fan of a history, a keen sports follower or love your television and movies, there’s a category for you. It’s very challenging but really rewarding to see your name in the top 5% of the people who’ve taken on the challenge.
The words vary in difficulty, I found the garden and the food categories particularly challenging, so if you’re after a bit of a challenge I’d definitely recommend those two.

How does the game work?
Once you’ve selected a category, you have 60 seconds to type out as many words as possible as they appear on the screen. Once you’ve finished your 60 seconds, you simply enter your details in and see if you’ve beaten the competition.
It’s a great way to test you typing skills but also can help to perfect your touch typing skills on both desktop and mobile. Touch typing, if you didn’t already know, is the ability to type without looking at your screen. Touch typists can type on average around 40-45 words a minute, whereas those who have not developed the ability can only type around 15 words per minute. That’s quite a big difference!

This test is a great way of getting a bit of competition amongst you and your mates. Share it with them and see what score they manage to achieve. We all have that friend who believes they can type faster than everyone else but can they? There’s only one way to find out!
